 The
Super Bowl XLII, happens in Phoenix (Glendale) this year on Feb. 3, 2008. This
event all by itself is expected to attract about 125,000 extra visitors
that come in right on top of the usual "high season" bookings this
time of the year..
People in the housing business have to take advantage of this Super Bowl
happening in Arizona because it only happens every 15 years or so....
Further complicating the situation is they have also scheduled the FBR GOLF
Open at the same time..
This golf tournament happens in Scottsdale and draws a town filling crowd by
itself.
This tournament and the Super Bowl Sunday both occur in addition to the
town full of tourists (snowbirds from Canada etc) from the height of the
Valley's tourist season, who are going to show up....Super bowl or no Super
bowl...
Super Bowl Just Released Homes and Rates
All Harlan's Regular Vacation Rental Homes
We held out several homes for higher super bowl rates...and held them
out to make them available at above our usual low rates, only after
team winners were announced........just two weeks before the game time.
However, the airlines were already overbooked and these east coast
people (both teams) can not get reservations from the east in here at
this late date, this is the normal overbooked airline season without
the game and golf tournament at the same time..
Therefore only some of the 100,000 people who would like to see their
team play likely may not be able to get here since planes and
transportation are not available... Distance is too far to drive in
the winter season for most.
Therefore we UNEXPECTEDLY are sitting with 5 open First Of the Month
bookings, and our regular customers can not even get here. No flights
open.......
We are not only not asking a Super bowl surcharge, we are now putting
into effect immediately our first of the month usual....25% discount on
last minute fill in bookings..
Our homes are close to the east valley "parties area" for the many
party days and are most about 30 min. to stadium with bus service provided by
City of Tempe etc to the game on the one game day.
If you can find a way to get here, interested in super bowl or not,
now til end of Feb. you can take advantage of our super low rates when
others are paying up to $1,000 per day. (see the ads others are
running.)
